Dagana 19.-22.

SNS-meeting. Forest Inventory, Management Planning and Modelling. Egilsstadir East-Iceland August 19th - 22nd 2008. The meeting is supported by SNS and Norvik ehf. It is too registered as one of many events of the 100 years anniversary of the Icelandic Forest Service.
Information for the meeting:
As you can see in the tentative program few keynotes presentations with authors have been set and some preliminary suggestions of presentations (without authors) are shown. However, we would appreciate to have much more presentations to choose between, especially from countries that haven't any presentations in the present program. We assume that all countries will give a country report for the NFI. At the meeting we have a space for 21 presentations in four sessions (See the program). Kindly send us potential presentations with title and name of the authors as soon as possible. Each presentation shall be introduced with an abstract in the meeting proceedings. Deadline for an abstract is 1. June.
In coherence with the objective of the meeting we want to stimulate Baltic participation. Because of good funding of the meeting we can support participants from the Baltic countries. Preliminary estimates indicate a max of 2-3 persons from each country can receive support for travel expenses. We hope the national coordinators will help to identify the persons eligible for support. As a matter of course we would prior people who will give presentation at the meeting. Of cause the number of participants is not limited to these who are granted.
A similar number of PhD students from all the participating countries can receive support for travel expenses provided they contribute to the conference with a presentation. Likewise we hope the national coordinators will help identify the persons eligible for support.
