Tagels gård Asa research station
Tagels gård is situated close to Moheda in the county of Småland and the area is 1800 ha. In 1959 the foundation Rappe- von Schmiterlöwska Stiftelsen was formed and is now managing the estate. The main objective is to promote research in agriculture and forestry. The secretary of the foundation is Jan-Åke Lundén.
Asa research station, started in 1988, is located in the village Asa and the total area is 1 010 ha, of which 900 ha is productive forest land. The station is used by researchers at SLU and other universities when field experiments are needed. Researcher at the station are also participating in several research programs were field research is an important component. The station is conducting information activities mainly through excursions and education in the forest.

NordGen Forest is a Nordic forum under NordGen and the Nordic Council of Ministers. The mandate of NordGen Forest is to address conservation and sustainable use of forest genetic resources, by being a meeting place for researchers, practitioners and managers working on forest genetics, seeds, planting stock and regeneration, and by facilitating the flow of scientific information to these groups. In addition, we initiate research and development and discuss issues of common Nordic interest.
