Viðarnýting og tækni framtíðarinnar: ráðstefna í Kaupmannahöfn 28. október

 Þann 28. október nk. verður haldin ráðstefna í Kaupmannahöfn sem ber yfirskriftina ?Future Forest and High-Tech Trees?.   Markmið ráðstefnunnar er að velta upp hugmyndum um viðarnýtingu í framtíðinni með hliðsjón af tækni morgundagsins, tækninni sem liggur handan við hornið.  Hvernig mun framtíðartækni hafa áhrif á framleiðslu timburs og annarra viðarafurða?   Tækni á sviði erfðatækni og líffræði taka hröðum framförum og spennandi er að velta fyrir sér hvaða þýðingu það getur haft.

 Þeir sem tala á ráðstefnunni eru fremstir sérfræðinga á þessu sviði.  Þeir munu horfa framhjá því sem talið er raunhæft í dag og fara á hugarflug um möguleika framtíðarinnar.  Gert er ráð fyrir umræðutíma í kjölfar hvers fyrirlesturs þar sem gestir hafa 5 mínútur til spurninga.  Síðan lýkur ráðstefnunni með pallborðsumræðum.  Þar verður velt upp tækni og siðfræðilegum spurningum hvað framtíðarnot og framleiðslu timburs varðar.

 Lærðir og leikmenn eru hvattir til að skoða þátttöku í ráðstefnunni.  Skráningarfrestur er til 17. september.

 The conference is co-sponsored by IUFRO (International Union of ForestResearch Organizations) and SNS (The Nordic Forest Research Co-operation Committee).

Each session will consists of a 30 minutes presentation, followed by a 5 minutes question period.

Conference proceedings will be handed out to the participants at the conference. Furthermore, posters will be presented at the conference.
